Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!!!
We heard people shouts as today is the 50th anniversary of Malaysia achieved freedom... I felt delighted, as Malaysian...because this country's achievements through the way during this half-a-century period.
The Merdeka celebrations today was held at Dataran Merdeka in the morning, and at Stadium Merdeka in the evening.
I love this year's theme... "My Glorious Malaysia (Malaysiaku Gemilang)", because it stated the successful history of Malaysia during the lead of five Prime Minister: Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, Tun Abdul Razak, Tun Hussien Onn, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
As usual, "Keranamu Malaysia" is the Merdeka's motto...but this year is a bit special, added with the glory of Malaysia...within different era after independence: 'Merdeka', revolution of plantations, unity, modernism, and excellency...
So, let's shout "Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!" with full of courage and be proud as Malaysian.
Atas nama negarabangsa
Dengan Tekad mulia, Maju Berwawasan
Mencipta keagungan
Berpadulah kita semua
Di dalam satu suara
Dengan degupan Merdeka
Menjulang budaya bangsa
Untuk Malaysia tercinta
Malaysiaku gemilang
Merdekanya terbilang
Berdaulat dan makmur
Berjaya kami syukur
Malaysia, kebebasan kedamaian
Malaysia, kebahagiaan kebanggaan
Malaysia, cemerlang terbilang
Malaysiaku gagah gemilang

This one is one of the songs by Hyde (L'Arc~en~Ciel's vocalist) in his first solo album, Roentgen (2002). I just got the english version a few days ago...while already have the japanese version. Somehow, this song is soothing and make me feel calm (actually I was listening the japanese version last time). So, here you are...Secret Letter from Hyde. Happy holiday~ Labels: Music
In the courtyard, birds singing
Through the window, bells ringing
Oh so tall and wide, these confining walls
I look upon the world below
Sorrow seals our lips tightly
Horror stalks our sleep nightly
But my heart escapes from this attic room
I'm running freely though the town
I remember, remember you
I remember, still close to you
No need to fear the distance here
Peace is shattered by oppression
Tainted oil meets rejection
Yes and just in case I should soon return
My secret letters I will leave
I remember, remember you
I remember, still close to you
No need to fear the distance here
Boarding the train I take in one last look
I'll keep these memories with me forever
I remember, remember you
I remember, still close to you
No need to fear the distance here
I remember, remember you
I remember, still close to you
No need to fear the distance here

It's cold out there...seems like it is winter season here. Actually, here we just have either hot weather or raining. So, the light rains will make it feels like winter :)
Last Sunday, I went to KLCC to met my fellow bestfriends (during high school)...Ayiq and Saiful. Things were getting merrier as Ayiq brought his younger siblings (Lutfi and Nadia). My brother joined the party too!
That day, I departed from Uniten at around 1.30pm as the rain was about to start. Luckily, I brought my raincoat and jacket along with me. After riding about 45 minutes (because of the rain), then I arrived at KLCC. Soon later, I met Saiful...he was already there for about an hour. Meanwhile, Ayiq was still at Lowyat to buy a pendrive. My brother wasn't with me...he went by himself because he departed from Segamat nearly afternoon and supposed to arrive at KLCC at around 3.00pm. He has a problem with his bike, where the exhaust pipe was leaking and he couldn't continue to ride around KL to avoid the police (summon for loud sound from the exhaust). He parked at Bukit Jalil's LRT station and then go to KLCC.
After all of us were there, then we have a late lunch at Burger King. I bought set no. 11 (beef burger with blackpepper sauce + french fries + chicken nugget) and one large coke. Ayiq had already booked tickets for "Rush Hour 3" movie, so we then watched the show at 5.30pm until 7.15pm... The movie was very nice, and lots of humor too!
Then, at around 7.30pm we all returned home separately... I took my brother to Bukit Jalil's LRT station then go straight to Uniten with him on our own bikes. I let him parked his bike here, then lend my bike to him because my brother has to return to Unisel that night.
That's all...more will come later.

Two days have passed since His Majesty Yang Dipertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan launched Proton's new baby, the Proton Persona. It was the first time after several years that the launch of Proton's new model have received such an overwhelming great responses. For two days, the Proton Edar website loaded very slow - maybe because is attracted too many eager visitors, of course.
Meet Proton's new pride and joy, the Proton Persona which is also nicknamed as "Gen-2 sedan" among hardcore motorists. As usual, it is powered by Proton's own 1.6 L DOHC 16-valve Campro S4PH engine. It comes in 3 variant lineup - the base-line, the medium-line and the high-line. The high-line is only available in automatic transmission while the other variants are available in both manual and automatic.
Anyway, even though the Persona has a strong Gen-2 roots, I would like to advise you to look extra carefully because it is the interior that makes both cars look similar but not the same. The Persona now has a glovebox, and the central power window controls are re-positioned at the driver's door. The automatic transmission has also been re-tweaked for better response. The rear headroom is also improved - if you tend to hit your head at the roof in the Gen-2, the problem is no more there in the Persona.
Another cool feature in the high-line version is the rear trunk which can be opened via the alarm remote. Cool, huh? Airbags are standard starting from the medium-line but the ABS and EBD are only available in the high-line variant.
Since Proton opened the pre-booking of the car last July, the company have got over 2.300 orders without even looking at the real car itself. Well, that's a real good sign for Proton to return back as the main player in Malaysian automotive industry.
Here are the pictures of the new Persona (all images are courtesy of paultan.org)

"SIGGRAPH 2007 was the stage where Microsoft dropped the bomb, informing gamers that the currently available DirectX 10 hardware will not support the upcoming DirectX 10.1 in Vista SP1. In essence, all current DX10 hardware is now obsolete. But don't get too upset just yet: 'Gamers shouldn't fret too much - 10.1 adds virtually nothing that they will care about and, more to the point, adds almost nothing that developers are likely to care about. The spec revision basically makes a number of things that are optional in DX10 compulsory under the new standard - such as 32-bit floating point filtering, as opposed to the 16-bit current. 4xAA is a compulsory standard to support in 10.1, whereas graphics vendors can pick and choose their anti-aliasing support currently. We suspect that the spec is likely to be ill-received. Not only does it require brand new hardware, immediately creating a minuscule sub-set of DX10 owners, but it also requires Vista SP1, and also requires developer implementation.'" REPRESENTATIVES from the almighty Vole have been speaking at Siggraph over Here's the thing. DX10 hardware - such as the GeForce 8800 or the Radeon 2900 - won't work with the new 10.1 features. The 0.1 revision requires completely new hardware for support, thus royally cheesing off many gamers who paid top whack for their new hardware over the last few months on the basis of future game compatibility. But these gamers shouldn't fret too much - 10.1 adds virtually nothing that they will care about and, more to the point, adds almost nothing that developers are likely to care about. Not only does it require brand new hardware, immediately creating a miniscule sub-set of DX10 owners, but it also requires Vista SP1, and also requires developer implementation. With developers struggling to justify including DX10 features in their games (see the recent comments by John Carmack and Mark Rein), they're going to be about as likely to further limit their product's market as they are to start developing NES games again. This is especially true given the incredibly limited benefits 10.1 is bringing to the party.Simply put - if you're a developer, why bother with 10.1? Answers on a postcard, please. Microsoft's DirectX lead program manager has set the record straight on reports that DX10.1 will render the current crop of DX10-compatible hardware ImageMicrosoft's Sam Glassenberg told Next-Gen in a phone interview, Even though DX10.1 will support current DX10 graphics hardware, today's DX10 hardware will not be able to support all of the features of DX10.1, which includes incremental improvements to 3D rendering quality. But Glassenberg stated, "It's a minor update, so we don't expect any developers to say, 'oh, this game is DX10.1 only.'"All off the games that are coming out in the next few years will take better and better advantage of current DX10 hardware."He said Microsoft is simply planning to support upcoming generations of graphics hardware. Labels: Software
Well, I got this information from my friends saying that the upcoming DirectX 10.1 (which will be shipped along with Windows Vista SP1) will make all current DirectX 10 hardware become obsolete. For me, that's a shocked news because as we know, DirectX 10 hardware are still very expensive. Even if you buy NVIDIA GeForce 8800 now, the price still high. If all become obsolete, there's no point spending so much to buy current DirectX 10 graphic cards.
Here's all the quote taken from different sources...
Quote from actiontrip.com:
Quote from theinquirer:
the last few days, and what they've said hasn't exactly lowered the blood pressure of many attendees.Microserfs were there to espouse the greatness of DirectX 10.1, the next revision to the DX graphics spec, which is due to arrive with Windows Vista SP1.
What Microsoft said:
"obsolete."
"DX10.1 fully supports DX10 hardware. No hardware support is being
removed....It's strictly a superset. It's basically an update to DX10 that
extends the hardware functionality slightly."He said that the update is similar
to what Microsoft did with DX9. "We did make updates to [DX9] that extended the
supported feature set."All the hardware is still supported, all the games still
run, all the features are still there, we've just simply extended the feature
set and the lifetime of the API," he said.At last week's Siggraph graphics
conference, Microsoft detailed the Windows Vista-exclusive API (application
programming interface) DX10.1.Reports spread across the web following the DX10.1 announcement, claiming the current array of DX10 graphics cards will become
"obsolete" with the introduction of DX10.1.Glassenberg conceded that "There will
be new features [with DX10.1], and those features may be exposed on new
hardware, but this is similar to the model that we had with DX9...[except] with
DX10.1, we're saying [to developers], 'if you want to support the new features,
you have to support all of them [including original DX10 features].'"
Glassenberg added that he "has no timeframe" on when this new hardware that
supports DX10.1 will be available. The DX10.1 beta SDK is available to developers
despite the fact that there are no DX10.1 cards available yet. The final version
of DX10.1 is expected to ship with Vista SP1.Glassenberg also addressed rumors
that DX10--currently exclusive to Vista--would be coming to Microsoft's Windows
XP. It seems that DX10's Vista exclusivity is unlikely to change."DX10 is built
on the new, updated Vista driver model," he said, adding that DX10 takes
advantage of the "virtualization and robustness" features of Vista.

Well, today and tomorrow might be the busiest time in this week...I have to complete my presentation + report for VR lab (Wed). It's quite difficult for me because all group members are staying outside campus except me. So, all of us did our part and combine them in the slides. Tomorrow morning, I'll come to the VR lab early to meet them for the preparation.
I've also finish writing on Shi Yun's autograph/biography book that she passed to me in the afternoon. So, it will be returned back to the owner by tomorrow. Thanks for giving me a chance to write a piece of my memory being your friend.
Finally, about my Project 2 progress...not much has been done. I keep revising the story and come out with sketches. Yet, just try to model the props first...later on will model the characters. So, much to do...I dunno whether can keep up with the pace of Faiz. He's so good in animation.
That's all for today. More updates later on...See ya!

Assalamualaikum, and good day to everyone...today I just got a bad news forwarded from my friends around Uniten. It was about our senior (also friend), Fadil Ahmad...undergraduate Bachelor of IT student has passed away at around 8pm local time. Labels: Uniten
Firstly, I knew that he involved in an accident about 2 months ago during his Industrial Training period. My housemate, Ayus told me about his accident at that time. He was unconscious for 2 months since that accident and being placed in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of HUKM (Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) at Bangi, Selangor.
I feel sad to lose such a friendly senior like him. Although we're not know much about each other, but at least I know that he was a good person. He has been the captain for Uniten's rugby team, and the goalkeeper for football team Athletico Madrid. I know that many IT lecturers in Uniten know about him very much.
Thanks to my friends for informing this to me. Let us dedicate Al-Fatihah to him. May Allah always bless him.

Packed with the same powerplant with the standard 2.0 Civic yet tuned up to 227 bhp, this beast is really awesome. The only bad news is the price, of course. This babe will cost you about RM193k, no thanks to the astronomical taxes imposed to cars.
Technical specifications
Still want more Civic Type-R? Okay, I'll give you some cool pics of this babe (all pictures are courtesy of paultan.org)...
